Edwin Forrest (March 9, 1806 – December 12, 1872); most prominent 19th century American Shakespearean Actor; A sheet of pine wood cut from the pine tree at his home, Springbrook, near Philadelphia framed together with a story about the tree by Charles J. Fyffe and original photographs of Edwin Forrest (CDV albumen) and the house (silver print) all framed together; also with a period miniature oil painting of Edwin Forrest on board. Height of frame for assorted memorabilia 11 1/2 inches (29.5 cm.). Provenance: Originally sold to benefit the Forrest Home for Retired Actors in Philadelphia, 1876.
