Pottery model of an earth spirit
Chinese, Tang dynasty
unglazed painted with a red pigment, with spiked wings, hooves and two horns, with a thermoluminescence analysis report from Oxford Authentication confirming the last firing was between 900 and 1500 years ago (sample no C103s68), 55cm high

Purchased from Kevin Trevor 30th April 2005 at the East Berks Antique Fair
One of the 'flames' has come off but we do have it. Other imperfections as found with these figures
