EXTRAORDINARY, 19TH C CHINESE QING DYNASTY ZITAN DRAGON DAY BED Gorgeously constructed with three conjoined back splats, wide rectangular hard mat, rising both arms panels. Ornately carved after an imperial example with all over decoration of dragons pursuing flaming pearls, the scalloped crest top surmounting the stepped back, all raised on cabriole legs over scalloped apron. Decorated wealthy with detailed dragons motif in deep relief chasing a flame pearl within fumes clouds. The Zitan shows dense wood with feathery fine grain and patina.
