A 19th. century transfer printed ironstone armorial baluster jug with sparrow beak spout bearing the arms of Plymouth with lion supporters beneath a wide band hand decorated in the Imari palette, the underside with the underglaze printed Royal Coat of Arms in black, no further mark. We believe this to be an early Ashworth Brothers production, circa 1862, the firm later becoming Masons Ironstone. Also a large Minton water jug, circa 1890, the white body with entwined roses around. Both excellent examples with no chips, cracks or other defects. Slight wear to gilding on rim of Ashworth jug.(2)
