A gilt bronze inkstand in the form of a water or drinks vendor wearing and ringing bells, an ornate reservoir on his back with hinged finial and banner lid to hold accessories, standing on a rocky shore before a bocage, a large raying shell in front for pens, cut glass wells with separate gilt bronze covers on the shore either side of the vendor, the latter removeable to reveal a compartment for wafers, stamps etc. 36x22x26cm. high. CR. Generally very good, no chips to wells, but one end of shell had crack across about 3cm. from the end.
