A Chinese “Ge” ware water pot in compressed form standing on tapered foot, body with typical Ge ware crackle pattern and lustrous glaze throughout. Ming period/16th century or earlier. There is an aged long glaze crack running around part of the surface at about the mid point which may penetrate into the body, and a glaze chip on the inside rim. 3.5cm high and 6.5cm diam.
