, probably Polish, second half of 19th century, bearing apparently spurious Russian marks for St. Petersburg, 1852, the crowned backplate applied with a menorah and stamped with leafage and scrolls, the front with eight lights behind which are two rampant lions, raised on stepped bracket feet, the backplate with auxiliary light fitted to an applied cartouche, 20 cm. high, 22 cm. long, wt. 678 gm.
Overall good condition, wear to gilding on the lions, menorah and small applied cartouche, marked at back of backplate (marks are convincingly worn) and on top of front ledge
