Court scene in the Safavid style by Ali Isfarjani

Very large composition, gouache on paper, representing a court scene inscribed in an oval: a royal couple seated on a throne relaxes while drinking from a long bottle, while courtiers and musicians are animated on the terrace in front of them. Large poly-lobed frame decorated with arabesques on a blue background. Signed below Ali Isfarjani and dated 1322H./1904-05.

Size: 65 x 49 cm

This very large Iranian composition is signed by the master Ali Isfarjani, some of whose works are currently kept in the Negarestan Museum and Garden in Tehran, displayed in the Asfarjani Hall.
