TIBET - 15th century

Brass statuette of Padmasambhava, seated in padmasana on a base in the shape of a double inverted lotus and holding the kapala in his left hand and the vajra in his right. The garment is adorned with clouds, the eyes inlaid with silver. On its base the engraved inscription:

 ??? ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? 

Om a hung padmasambhava hung // guru padmé shingkham di // ratna badzra nangten la namo

"Om a hung padmasambhava hung [Padmasambhava's mantra?] This pure land of Padmasambhava. Homage to the religious/internal support [of] Ratna Vajra".
