, Ca. 19th century, China, The censer on three bun feet, and on a custom made wooden stand. Not marked. D 26 cm, H 12.5 cm (exc. wooden stand), This censer is Number 72 from the collection of Mr. F.C.M. Mattern, who was stationed in Batavia (present day Jakarta). He was repatriated to the Netherlands in 1934 with the MS Chr. Huygens (departure 4-9-1934). Parts of his collection that he took to the Netherlands were never unpacked again and remained in storage in the old boxes until recently. Two old discoloured cracks in the rim and several smaller cracks.
