A massive gilt bronze or brass clock signed H & F Paris on the movement, the circular ornate dora-mounted dial with pierced hands and featuring cartouche-shaped white enameled Roman chapters encased within a gilt-molded chapter ring below an arched pediment, the housing flanked by a pair of female sphinx adorned in eighteenth-century dress suspending a fruit and berried swag, surmounted by a festooned urn with flame finial flanked by foliate-clad griffins and scrolling acanthus; the whole supported on a shaped cyma recta gadrooned plinth with shaped hanging pennants, bellflower highlights and scrolling acanthus centering a large radiating cabochon, all raised on foliate-cast feet trimmed with beading. The associated garniture comprising two ten-light candelabra, each with urn-form foliate sockets over crystal circular drip pans, issuing from scrolling arms dressed with crystal pendants spilling from a three sided openwork standard, each of the three sides centered by a bearded mask over laurel garland and raised by female griffins on a tripartite plinth with foliate edging on toupie feet. The movement stamped H & F Paris and numbered 4294. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. Dimensions (Clock): 34" x 32" x 8" and each garniture measures 30" x 14"
