拍品描述: Qianlong four-character seal mark in blue and of the period Reduced from original bottle form and capped with silver mount the ovoid body enameled with a continuous pastoral scene of a European woman in a white chemise and broad-brimmed yellow straw hat holding a blue sack with a young child at her lap, attended by a young maiden in a lilac dress with yellow drapery across the shoulder the tufted grass and rocky landscape continuing to show a valley, distant hills and a blossoming shrub on the obverse. Height 4 7/8 inches, width overall 4 inches. Provenance: Herschel V. Johnson Collection A vase painted with European subjects is illustrated in Williamson, Book of Famille Rose, pl. XI. Also reference a bottle vase at the Freer Gallery of Art enameled with a Chinese woman and two children with iconography symbolic of the wish to bear high-ranking sons, accession no. F1954.127a-e.
