The brushes deeply carved to a ground of undulating waves and cloud bosses with a continuous landscape scene with figures ascending bridge into lofty peaks suffuse with craggy rockery and boughs of radiating pines. The landscape continuous to the covers, where minute figures are dwarfed by towering rock formations. Length 9 5/8 in., 24.5 cm. The second example showing similar soiling, the cover with a clean fracture to the cover at the site of an old restoration, free of loss, and a fracture running about the circumference of the base.
