YUAN/MING DYNASTY 元/明 青玉螭龍杯 the mossy stone attractively streaked with variegated striations of grey, black, and subtle amber flecks carved with double handles in the form of two opposing beasts emerging from the foot of the cup, with slender bodies arching towards the plain mouth rim, with softly incised details at the flaring nostrils, horns, and tails curling against the smooth walls, all raised above a conical reticulated hardwood stand. Width 5 3/4 in., 14.6 cm. condition:The cup presenting in overall good and attractive stable condition: the surface with some minor nicks and fleabites, particularly to carved regions and mouth rim, The stone with natural stable fissures, notably to the edge of one handle and the chilong tail to the exterior of one wall, and a having an old v shaped chip to the foot rim. Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, Inc. reserves the right to hold merchandise purchased by personal check until the check has cleared the bank.
