Crescent Moon Madonna — Sicily, 18th century Mother of God standing on a round cloud base with a crescent moon and four angels in counterpoint, dressed in a richly folded, ornamented garment, her hands folded in prayer, her crowned head with long, wavy hair falling over her shoulders. Wood, carved in full relief, flattened back, coloured and partly gilded. H. 67 cm. - Signs of age, the paint has been partly lost. // Mondsichelmadonna — Sizilien, 18. Jh. — Auf rundem Wolkensockel mit Mondsichel und vier Engeln im Kontrapost stehende Muttergottes, in faltenreiches, ornamentiertes Gewand gekleidet, die H?nde zum Gebet gefaltet, das bekr?nte Haupt mit langem, gewelltem, über Schultern fallendes Haar. Holz, vollplastisch geschnitzt, abgeflachter Rücken, farbig gefasst und teilweise vergoldet. H. 67 cm. - Altersspuren, Fassung teilweise übergangen.
