Madonna with Child — France, ca. 1380 A Lorraine Madonna standing on a natural base with a characteristically broad face and wide-set eyes, she is dressed in a creased robe and a red-blue cloak, wears a white veil over her wavy, long hair and a diadem, in her left arm she holds the Child Jesus, in her right hand an apple, which the boy reaches for with both hands. Limestone, fully sculpted, polychrome setting. H. 88 cm. - Losses to the setting, but extensive traces of the original setting present. Comparable objects in the parish church of Le Grand Thon, Vosges, South Lorraine, as well as two groups in the Metz City Museum. // Madonna mit Kind — Frankreich, ca. 1380 — Eine auf Natursockel stehende, lothringische Muttergottes mit charakteristisch breitem Gesicht und weit auseinanderstehenden Augen, sie ist in ein faltenreiches Gewand und einen rot-blauen Mantel gekleidet, tr?gt einen wei?en Schleier über ihrem gewellten, langen Haar und ein Diadem, im linken Arm h?lt sie den Jesusknaben, in der rechten Hand einen Apfel, nach dem der Knabe mit beiden H?nden greift. Kalkstein, vollplastisch gearbeitet, polychrom gefasst. H. 88 cm. - Fassungsverluste, jedoch umfassende Spuren der Originalfassung vorhanden.
