Signed Xue Song in pinyin and dated 1993, titled to the reverse Shengzhuang, signed Xue Song in pinyin and dated 1993. Xue Song lives and works in Shanghai. In his paintings he frequently uses scorched scraps of paper, newspaper and photos and forms a collage. In the early 1990s after a fire destroyed almost everything in his studio, he began to process the leftovers in his works, and combining the fragments with historical content or, as here, with Chinese characters.
