拍品描述: The stirrups of black patinated iron with silver hirazogan (level inlay) of clouds, waves, and the mythical beast Minogame (蓑亀), the insteps of red lacquered wood, 8.3" x 7.1" — 21 x 18 cm., signed Masashige saku 正重作 Provenance: From an Important Private Collection, Canada Note: Minogame (蓑亀) is a mythical turtle in the Japanese culture. As a symbol of longevity, some Minogame are said to live up to 1000 years. Perhaps on of the most remarkable characteristics of Minogame is his tail formed of seaweed and algae. The most famous depiction of Minogame is from the legend of Urashima Taro.
