Provenance: By repute these jardinières were gifted by Her Majesty Queen Mary, substantiated by a note on Malborough House stationary (the home Queen Mary from 1936) which reads: 'A gift for the sale at the Garden Fete to be held at Strumpshaw Hale on June 7th 1939 in aid of the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital from Her Majesty Queen Mary'
