Provenance: Purchased by the late J.B. da Silva (1918-2003) at Chancellors Auctioneers, 26th April, 1982 for £185.00. No receipt but itemised in collection notes and sold with a local newspaper sale report where the brush pot is mentioned.

题诗:沉沉五鼓去朝天,飞舄逢临玉陛前,不是云端召赐履,那知宝辙优神仙。菊庵
支元福[清]字雪樵,号菊菴,乾隆时(一七三六―一七九五)人。后得顾阿瑛"玉山完璞"竹根印,遂更名璞,号玉山。镇洋(今江苏太仓)诸生。性孤介绝俗,人咸以"支怪"目之。画法得王昱指授,善仿倪瓒,秀逸可爱,非应至好之求不为,帮所作甚罕。能诗,工篆刻,卒年七十七。
