Iron and iroezogan. Japan, 18th cent.
The form mokkogata with hitsu and even rand. On the main side is a moon rabbit on a shore gazing full of longing to the moon, which is just rising over a mountain contour (or clouds). On the reverse side is a brook. The hare usagi, also a member of the zodiac, is inlaid in takazogan with sentoku, some areas in tenzogan with gold. The iron features ishime structure.
