Glazed ceramic. Japan, approx. Meiji to after
Tall form, curving somewhat toward the exterior, with flat bottom. The highly glossy glaze is very animated with brown mottling and design over the black ground. The decor offers subtle blossoms (or insects?), as well as – suggested, too, with contour – a landscape with mountains, which could also be cloud edges. Mostly unglazed, the glaze-free bottom shows yellowish shard.
