Wood. China, Qing 19th cent.
This pipe-shaped vase for one lovely blossom on the table of a Literati is defined by very carefully carved high relief. It offers diverse motifs, primarily lotus blossoms, as well as the parasol of honor san and stylized lingzhi symbols (long life), partially composed within a geometric border. Blackish staining, a small chip on edge, otherwise very good condition.
