Buddha Shakyamuni, in China Shijiamouni Fo, seated in lotus pose on a lotus throne. The right hand is held in the gesture of touching the earth, as Buddha calls the earth goddess to witness his victory over Mara (Buddhist. Satan). His other hand rests on his lap. Cupola-shaped ushnisha carry a round "lotus bud" as closure. Extensively preserved gilding over red lacquer paint, according to age powerful patina, complete condition.
