拍品描述: Description Chinese Cinnabar lacquer box and cover, of square outline with canted corners, the cover is finely carved in high relief of a scene with figures in and around a dwelling within a landscape surrounded by trees and mountains, all raised above a dense lower ground of geometric motifs mimicking the earth, water, and the sky, the sides are carved in a tight geometric coffered pattern with repeating wànzì symbols to represent the auspicious footprints of the Buddha, the base and interior with black lacquer. 2.75? H x 7? diameter. Provenance: Property removed from a residence at the Pierre Hotel. Condition Report Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Complete condition information is available by request, no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Auctions at Showplace will not provide refunds based on condition.
