The luxury watch company EBEL was founded in Switzerland in 1911 by Eugine Blum and Elise Blum, nee Levy. By using their initials 'E' B' 'E' 'L' this iconic brand was formed. In 1932 the son of the founder, Charles Blum, took over the company and expanded it into the international market. He was in turn followed by his son, Pierre-Alain. Ebel is now owned by the Movado group.
