A carved and combed Yaozhou green-ware tea bowl
Northern Song Dynasty Of gently-rounded conical shape, the interior carved at the center with a thick coiling leafy-tendrils below gently-combed concentric-arcs in a continuous petal-like design around the center, the whole perhaps depicting a single large flowerhead, all under a pale celadon-green glaze which continues on the plain exterior, save for a single incised line at the mid-body, and thins unevenly to a grey and pale brown at the foot edge, the foot and base firing to a reddish-brown with a few random spots of glaze. 5 1/8in (13cm) diameter
