Qing Dynasty The figure wearing a diamond-patchwork robe enameled in rust-red, blue and turquoise patches each centered with pendant jewels and bordered by gilt lines, the hems further engraved with floral scrolls on a diaper ground, the thoughtful open-mouthed louhan with shaved head seated with arms crossed under his robes. 6 3/4in (17cm) high
