Description A GROUP OF EIGHT PERSIAN POTTERY VESSELS, Iran, 19th - 20th century, comprising a white slip-painted Samanid-style calligraphic dish, 21.5cm diam.; an Ilkhanid-style bowl with a stylised gazelle in the centre and calligraphy around the rim, 25cm diam.; a small ruby copper-lustre saucer with fretwork bands, 12.5cm diam.; a large monochrome cobalt blue-painted jug with curved handle, with an old inventory sticker '273' on the base, 17cm high, 15cm diam.; two polychrome-painted figural pottery tiles, one moulded with a Sufi sheykh with a begging bowl (kashkul) and axe, 25cm x 16.5cm, the latter star-shaped, with an Achaemenid-revival frieze with the mythical Persian king Jamshid, 20.5cm x 20.5cm; a deep earthenware bowl with a spotted animal in the centre and sini script cartouches on the exterior, 19.5cm diam.; and a Qajar blue and white pottery vase, with peacocks, cypress trees and stylised cloud designs, 25cm high.
