An Italian white marble fragment of a rearing horse, 16th/17th century, possibly an armorial fragment, modelled with the neck turned slightly to dexter, its body emerging from a wrythen and acanthus back, mounted to a later rectangular mottled grey marble plinth, 10cm high, 12cm wide overall
The handling of the present model bears strong similarities to that of a fragmentary horse in the collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, Inv. Nr. Schloss Ambras Innsbruck, PA 922.
