A mahogany and inlaid sideboard, circa 1790 and later, in the manner of Thomas Sheraton, 89cm high, 162cm wide, 60cm deep
Condition Report:
Please note, the legs on this sideboard appear to be original however they appear to have been taken off and re-attached later - possibly when this sideboard has been moved they have had to be removed and then re attached with brackets. One front leg is also loose and with signs of previous bracing, this would require some restoration before use in a domestic setting,
Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use,
Handles are later replacements, they are in keeping with the sideboard, one is missing a handle, there are no keys present, the escutcheons are associated, they are in an early period than the sideboard.
Various chips, losses, replacements to veneers, bandings, and inlays,
Double depth drawers have signs of being previously lined, the interiors are now bare
Old splits and cracks, especially to the sides
Warping to the top,
Colour variation including across the top and other areas,
