Technique: sumi on paper
Condition: Ch?beri (middle part) of moss-green silk, top and bottom of light-brown silk. brown silk brocade ichimonji and futai, brown wooden rollers. Fitted wooden box. Very good/fine overall condition. The sumi very thin and transparently applied.
A certificate by Stephen Addiss accompanies this painting. He has translated the calligraphy as follows: "Daruma faces the wall in meditation, behind him the flowers of spring".
