Condition: Ch?beri (middle part) of grey & gold silk brocade, top and bottom of beige silk; beige & gold ichimonji and futai. Black lacquer ivory rollers, original titled, signed and sealed wooden box. The inside signed by his son Ueda K?ho.
An important painting in impeccable condition. Originally part of the K?noike family collection.
Literature: In Andon 59 an article about this painting can be found: the bare bones are that Ueda K?ch? made 100 very similar paintings for his patrons after his ascent of Mt Fuji at age 85. The sumi used for these paintings was made with the snow he had scooped from the summit of Mt Fuji. The buyer will get a copy of the article.
