Technique: sumi on silk
Condition: Ch?beri (middle part) of brown&gold silk brocade (in a pattern of Seih?'s best-known-seal), top and bottom of beige silk, beige & gold ichimonji and futai. Ivory rollers, fitted double wooden box, titled and authenticated by an (as yet) unidentified artist. Small repair in the top part of the mounting. Very good/fine overall condition.

Literature: Seih? is in all the books about 20th century Japanese painting.
Both seal and signature point at a date around 1906, Seih?'s best artistic period. See Professor Harada Heisaku's book "Takeuchi Seihoo".
