A VERY FINE and RARE Chinese famille rose porcelain carving baluster vase. The clay fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. Of baluster shape, with tall body, gently narrowed on the base, raised on slightly splayed foot, the angled shoulder tapered to straight cylindrical neck supporting the banded rim. Two famille rose painting medallions painted on the belly, depicting a life scenes within ancient gated city; reserved against a carved geometrical swastika diaper, with gilt over glaze ground. The shoulder carved with pink, light-blue, and pale-yellow archaic patterns, beneath a carmine-red tropical leaf pattern. Banded with carving decorations of key fret pattern on the rim and upward petal lappets in pastel color around the foot. The foot ring base revealed the pale-creme ground with darker firing spots, enclosing the pale turquoise-green underglaze receded central base. The immaculate porcelain body covered with a characteristic silky glaze, pooling on the base slightly veiling the firing mark.
Mark on, a seal mark, with six iron-red seal script -ZhuanShu- Characters, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing.
