Pair of very fine carved Chinese white jade bowls on stands. Each with flared sides rising to a beveled mouth rim, raised on a low splayed foot ring, the translucent stone of an even white-celadon tone with areas of opaque mottling. Each exterior carved in shallow relief with two centralized medallion, one with Jixiang, and other with ruyi, both bowl to represent Jixiang ruyi, Chinese phrase means "May your good fortune be according to your wishes"; with array of stylized scrolling foliate beneath interlocking ruyi pattern on the rim. The petal lappets banded on the foot. The design is well-proportioned, the Jade is fine and exquisite, the carving is smooth, finely polished, with a moist milky appearance and clean pale-celadon tinge iridescent. Presented elegantly on carved hardwood stands.
