A Superb Chinese Carved White Jade Covered Urn. Carved pale-celadon-white jade in form of tall baluster shape form, heavy on the lower body, gently waisted tall neck toward flaring rim. Two elephant masks flanked from neck to shoulder, suspending free ring on both sides. The domed lid supported the lotus bud finial. The main body delicately decorated with shallow relief of centralized Shou character medallion interspersed with interlocking ruyi pattern above scrolling flames on the foot; with sprays of rococo floral foliate gently growing from of medallion. The neck banded with further interlocking ruyi pattern. The design was simply yet elegant. The nephrite jade shows moist milky appearance and perfect even-toned pale-celadon white Jade. The urn elegantly displayed upon a carved wooden stand.
