拍品描述
Chinese Ming period blue and white porcelain Jar. The under glazed bulbous body, gently waisted to the base, with rounded shoulder toward prominent short neck further to wide opening rim. Decorated with hand-painting in iron-red underglaze depicted vigorous dragon striding within cobalt blue flames and clouds above cresting wavy LiShui water. The geometrical pattern and floral motifs banded to the neck under the rim.
The underside left unglazed, with pale-creme base spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.

Dimension: 11"H x 13" Diam

PROVENANCE: From the heirs of Sir John Dorrington and the Vosper estates from Stroud Gloucestershire these items were purchased by a prominent antiques collector in 2008. Seeking historical and collectible items he attended numerous auctions and estate sales in the area as well as from nearby countries. Sometimes finding a rarity sometimes just the camaraderie of fellow collectors.
