Fine Chinese QianLong Blue and White Lidded Baluster Jar. The baluster jar has a tall feminine silhouette with broad shoulders and a body that either tapers to the foot or pinches at the waist then elegantly fans near its foot. The baluster jar is capped by a relatively tall bell-shaped lid, in form of a general's helmet, crowned with an oval pinnacle. The exterior delicately painted in various rich tones of cobalt blue depicted four scene from "the water margin" 108 warriors of Liangshan Mountain. Including Lu ShihZen, Wusong, Lin Chong, and Li Kui. Banded with repeating auspicious geometrical patterns. Exquisitely displayed upon carved hardwood stands. Mark on base, a seal mark, eight script -KaiShu- characters, In the Year QianLong Reign Period.

PROVENANCE: Found in a plantation home near Nashville, Tennessee in 2014 at a downsizing Estate sale.
