MING XUANDE PORCELAIN CHARGER IN DRAGON MOTIF

拍品描述
The charger having a shallow body with round cavetto emerged to wide opening rim, the central interior decorated with a vigorous dragon flying amidst flames and clouds, the lobed sides with upright four-friends floral sprays radiating around cavetto, before band of scrolling tendril ribbon, the conforming exterior with lotus and scrolling twigs beneath the key fret pattern ribbon banded under the rim. The underside left unglazed, with pale-creme base and grayish-creme firing spots.
Mark under the rim, a seal mark, of six blue script -KaiShu- characters, enclosed within rectangular frame border, XuanDe Reign Period of Great Ming.


Dimension: 2-1/2"H x 15"Diam

PROVENANCE: Found in a plantation home near Nashville, Tennessee in 2014 at a downsizing Estate sale.
