TWO 18TH CENTURY SAMPLERS DATED 1782 AND 1797 the first depicting Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, further embellished with putto, flowering plants, keys, alphabet and number series, etc, bearing the initials '?MK SDM' and dated '1782'; the second named and dated 'Jean Laing, 1797', with the verse 'The habitation of thy house/Lord I have loved well/Yea in that place I do delight/Where doth thine honour dwell', worked in coloured threads with two houses, trees, flowers and foliage, etc.(73cm x 34.5cm wide; and 33cm?x?24cm?(excluding frames))
