Champa, c. 10th-12th century. Fragments of a gold pendant showing Garuda, the legendary bird of Hindu mythology, surrounded by cloud-like decorations, all executed in repoussé.
Condition: Only fragments of the broken pendant remain, with much of the depiction as well as the hook for suspension missing. Provenance: A private owner, acquired from the collection of Dr. Istvan Zelnik several years ago.
