China, Kangxi period (1662-1722). Of baluster form, painted in underglaze blue with four reserves containing birds perched in flowering branches, the shoulders show lappets with floral compositions, all within geometric bands and scrolling floral sprays.
Condition: With few manufacturing flaws and repaired neck, otherwise good condition. Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a third-generation member of the Holzapfel family after 1995 and has remained in the family ever since.
