Makuzu Kozan (Japan 1842-1916); Underglaze Blue Red Porcelain Censer with 3 windows of Dragons in underglaze red on a ground of carved waves in clear glaze, on 3 feet with a surround of underglaze blue clouds and the center with the artist's signature. Diameter 5 1/4 inches (13.3 cm.). NOTE: Kozan was Ceramic Artist to the Japanese Imperial Household and one of the major pottery influences of the Meiji Era. From 1876 to 1913, Kozan won prizes at 51 exhibitions, including World's Fairs and various National Industrial Exhibitions.
