Francois Eugene Rousseau (French, 1827–1891); Paris circa 1884, blown and polished 4 sided amethyst glass "Chinoiserie" vase with "craquelure", brick-red & ivory glass inclusions with gold leaf in the glass, with Animal-Head & Tongue handles applied to the sides in emerald pressed glass. Height 7 1/8 inches (18 cm.) X width from handle to handle 5 inches (12.7 cm.). NOTE: In 1884, Eugene Rousseau was the first to display crackled glass at the Central Union of Decorative Arts, made after a Venetian technique from the 16th century.
