Miniature from an old paper manuscript with a scene from the Persian Shah name of the poet Abu l-Qasim Firdausi (940-1020). With his monumental epic ''Shah's name'', the ''Book of Kings'', which contains about 60,000 verses, he created the national epic of the Persian-speaking world and thus the world's largest epic of a single poet ever.
