Kong Xiaoyu (1899-1984), formerly named Xianying, was born in Kongjia Village, Zhuangqiao, Cixi. He started activities in Shanghai and then went to Hong Kong. In 1951, he resolutely returned north to participate in inland construction; after 1955, he was invited to teach in Anhui Art School, concurrently served as the deputy dean of Anhui Painting Academy, and was elected as the representative of Anhui Provincial People's Congress. In his later years, he served as a professor at Anhui Art School, deputy dean of Anhui Painting Academy, and representative of the Provincial People's Congress. He is good at flower blogging, pursuing vivid image and loose brushwork. He has worked hard to learn the ability of memorizing and dictation. From the three generations of bronzes, he has covered characters, feathers, animals, fish and insects, and he is eager to come out with everything. His ancient paintings are named alongside Zhang Shanma's tiger and Xiong Songquan's lion.
