Chen Mingyuan was born during the Kangxi and Yongzheng periods of the , with a far-reaching name, Mingyuan, from Shixiashan and Huyin, from Shangyuan Village, Yixing, Jiangsu. He was born in a family of Zisha. According to legend, his father was Chen Ziqi, a famous Zisha artist in the Dynasty. Chen's exquisite carving craftsmanship and rich texture are amazing. The bamboo shoots have a slight curvature, quite full, and full of moth-eaten holes. Light yellow mud, the roots are slightly brownish-red, and the bamboo shells are decorated with brown-red spots.
