Gu Jingzhou (1915-1996), a master of Chinese arts and crafts, is known in the industry as "the master of purple sand" and "the master of a generation". Formerly known as Jingzhou. In the early years, it was also known as Manxi, Shouping, Wuling Yiren, and Jingnan Shanqiao. In his later years, he named Husou and Lao Ping. Started to learn pottery and art at the age of 18. In the late 1930s, the pot was made antique in Shanghai. In 1954, he joined the Yixing Shushan Pottery Cooperative. In 1956, he was appointed as a technical counselor by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, leading students such as Xu Hantang, Gao Haigeng, Li Changhong, Shen Junhua, Shu Fengying, Wu Qunxiang and others. Participated in the National Congress of Arts and Crafts three times in his life. He has a great influence in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. He has made great achievements in pot art. He personally edited the masterpiece "Yixing Zisha Treasures". Gu Jingzhou has devoted all his life to Zisha pottery, keeps forging ahead, and has the courage to innovate, and has led generations to add luster to the Zisha career. With a broad mind and superb technology, he wrote a brilliant chapter in the development history of Zisha, which is worthy of being an important milestone.
