Pu Ru (1896-1963), Manchu, from Beijing. A master of modern Chinese painting, he was called "Southern Zhang and Beipu" by his name with Shu native Zhang Daqian; and also called "Southern Wu and Beipu" with Wu Hufan. He believed in Buddhism all his life and served his mother to filial piety. Therefore, the Guanyin in his works is faith, filial piety, and a sustenance of his mother's feelings. In the picture, Guanyin uses the exquisite white-line brushwork to portray Guanyin's gentle, kind and clear air. The brush is both rigid and soft, but also real and virtual. The processing of the clothes pattern is even more delicate. The sea water painted below the Guanyin really makes the viewer feel like they are in the sea, rolling in, with the surging sound still in their ears. The boy in the water worshipped Guanyin. It is also a true portrayal of Meng Xiaodong's dedication to Buddha. Throughout this Guanyin image, the pen is exquisite. There are many variations on the lines alone. It makes the whole picture rich, light and heavy, smooth and rhythmic, and there is stillness in movement, which is really superb. 67.3*6.5cm
